A California TEA Party

I haven't posted in a long, long, long time. But I have not abandoned my beliefs or forsaken the roles that I can play. Yesterday like many Americans I participated in my local TEA party. Bellow is an article from the local paper about it. I'd say its pretty fair but not overly so and it does try to associate it to some large organization when it wasn't at all.

Hundreds rally against taxes, government spending

(actually around 2000, But god forbid they say "thousands")

Tamma DeHart dressed head to toe in a homemade pink pig suit complete with a pig snout and plastic sewn-on teats Wednesday to show her displeasure with government spending.

“It’s out of control,” said the Camarillo woman, who shimmied her hips in a gold-coin miniskirt and waved a sign reading “Spare the Pork.”

Hundreds of protesters, some dressed like Revolutionary War soldiers and most waving American flags or signs with anti-government slogans, gathered on tax-deadline day Wednesday for an antitax demonstration outside the County Government Center in Ventura.

Organizers estimated the crowd at more than 1,500. Other TEA — or Taxed Enough Already — events were held in Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley. They were among more than 2,000 nationwide modeled after the original Boston Tea Party.

Wednesday’s deadline for filing income tax returns offered Madonna Paradis, an out-of-work retail worker from Port Hueneme, a timely excuse to vent her frustrations.

“I’m mad as hell,” she said. “I’m here to protest government intervention in my life.”

Ruth Schneider, 76, a retired statistics professor from Santa Paula, spent her birthday protesting on the sidewalk off Victoria Avenue. Despite high winds, protesters lined the street for more than two hours, seemingly spurred on by a chorus of horns from passing motorists. At one point, a small plane arced overhead towing a sign reading “I’M TEA’D OFF.”

Schneider held a small flag in one hand and a tea bag in the other.

“The tea bag symbolizes that we are taxed enough already,” said Schneider, compelled to protest because she’s worried about how the nation’s mounting deficit will affect her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. “It feels good to be a part of something,” she said. “I feel like I am doing something right.”

The protests were promoted by the American Family Association and FreedomWorks, a conservative nonprofit advocacy group based in Washington, D.C., and led by former Republican Majority Leader Dick Armey of Texas.

While the original tea party in 1773 involved American settlers angered over a new British tax on tea who dumped tea cargo in the Boston Harbor, the modern-day tea party has come to symbolize unhappiness with taxes and the way the government spends them.

Organizers said the movement developed through conservative blogs and online social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, and through exposure on Fox News.

While organizers insisted it was a nonpartisan effort, it was seized by many Republicans as a way for the party to reclaim its momentum.

Speakers in the courtyard outside the county courthouse included Jeff Gorell, a former prosecutor running for an Assembly seat next year. “I refuse to let my state go to hell in a handbasket,” Gorell, a Republican, said to cheers. “We’ve had enough of these taxes.”

Many criticized the $787 billion economic stimulus package Congress passed this year.

“Trillions are being wasted on the bailout,” said Kenny Molenhouse, an out-of-work manufacturer from Camarillo. “And they are not creating jobs.”

DeHart said her struggle to overcome near-foreclosure on her home motivated her to craft her elaborate pig costume. Years ago, her first husband left her, leaving her to cover payments on their house. She convinced the bank to restructure her mortgage and she had to take out a $100,000 personal loan, which she paid off. The bailouts are an affront to those who survived the hard way, she said.

“No one bailed me out,” said DeHart, whose current husband was one of the organizers of Wednesday’s event. “I have a 10-year-old. How can I teach him fiscal responsibility when everyone has their hand out?”

About 150 people turned out at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, said protester Aaron Taggert, 25. “It’s important to protest taxes because Congress doesn’t have the authority to raise the income taxes,” said Taggert, a Libertarian. A second event was scheduled later in Simi Valley.

Outside the Thousand Oaks post office, authorities estimated about 175 people protested. The Sheriff’s Department had a deputy at each event.

“Everyone was very well behaved. There were no incidents,” sheriff’s Capt. Patti Salas said.

Even children got involved, many holding makeshift signs complaining about the rising debt.

“We’re protesting unfair taxes, particularly the income tax,” Elyse Geer, 11, said from the sidewalk on Victoria Avenue in Ventura. Elyse joined her father Arnold Geer, a handyman from Santa Paula, who described himself as a Ron Paul supporter.

Elyse acknowledged she didn’t fully understand what the fuss was all about, but she was having a blast at her first protest. “I feel loved when all these people honk their horns,” she said, waving a sign at passing traffic. “I don’t feel alone.”

A letter to traitors

I am prolly a lil late to the game on this one, and if you have already done this you have my thanks if you have not then i encourage you to do so for two reasons.
 
These senators need to know that we will not suport them finacialy thru the RNC and two the RNC needs to know that our finacial support is not for candidates that do not represent us. Feel free to copy and or adjust the letter beloow to suit your mesage.
 
 

Senator Specter/ Snowe / Collins,

I am not your constituent, but sadly I am compelled to write to you anyhow. You see my financial support of the GOP ends up in your campaign coffers. Respectfully what you have done to the Republican party by crossing lines to support this bill is unconscionable. It saddens me to know that my hard earned money is wasted by members of the party I support.

This letter is to urge you to reconsider your recent stance on the stimulus package and rejoin your fellow republicans in standing firm against wasteful government spending that provides no stimulus.

It is also to inform you that due to you actions I am withdrawing all finacial support from the RNC, as I cannot in good conscience lend my support to those who do not represent my views.

A copy of this letter is being sent to the various offices of the RNC to let them know why my financial support can no longer be counted on.

It is my hope that you change your mind and withdraw your support of this bill, but should you not I have the peace of mind in knowing that my funds will no longer support you or candidates like you in the future.

A Letter to John McCain

With the passage of the Porkulus Bill (thanks Rush!) it moves to the Senate. I understand there is little hope of stoping this thing, but that doesn't mean we can't try. My own senators (Boxer and Feinstein) are in the tank, so I decided to write to a different senator. Senator McCain,
 
I am one of the 46 million Americans that voted for you for President. As such I feel compelled to contact you regarding the so called "stimulus" that recently passed the house in a completely partisan vote. Sir, during your canidacy you made promises regarding pork and unneccessary spending. Though you did not win your bid for President as a supporter of yours I expect you to live up to that promise.
 
I urge you to vote no on this pork barrel feeding frenzy of a bill and to use your considerable influence to persude the more moderate memebers of the Republican party to join you in standing firm against such nonsense. For surely nonsense is the only word that can be used to describe a bill that provides tax rebates to illegal aliens, hundreds of millions of dollars for STD prevention, and near billions for groups like ACORN, but not a single economically stimulating thing, not even modest tax cuts to spur investment.
 
Please sir don't make a liar out of yourself and fools out of the 46 million of us that stood with you on Novemebr 4th. This bill is bad for the country you love, and no amount of political wordsmithing will make it any better.
 
God Bless you sir for your past and current service to this great nation, it is time now for you to serve her once again and prevent the enourmous financial burden that will be layed not only on our backs, but the backs of our children and grand children.

Tolerance: Why you mad gays? (guys)

An interesting note regarding California prop 8 is that it won because of overwhelming black support (presumably voting for Obama) and hispanics. If it had been left to the white folks of California it would have failed .

The subsequent protests however have been directed at afluent white society, most notably the mormons and Saddleback church. Is this a case of misdirected anger? You'd think they'd be protesting in the barios of east LA, or Compton, Long Beach City, Hayward or Oakland, instead they protest on the steps of city hall in Palm Springs, and elsewhere? Are these unreported enclaves of minoirty groups? No.
 
It seems that in their political correctness they desire to be politcally correct and lash out at whites, who actually supported their cause.
 
Go figure...

Conversation with a Liberal

My wife has an aquaintance that she worked with for a while, who is decidely liberal. My wife recieved an email from her friend and promptly forwarded it to me with a two word introduction: "you respond"
 
LOL my wife is opinionated but non-confrontational. So I did here is the conversation thus far I'll add to it if she responds.

If it wasn't for Bush's failed presidency over the last eight years Americans may have never been in the place we are now to elect the first very intelligent and well spoken black president.

We don't know how the next 4 years are going to play out but, how can we not not be inspired by what has been done here and what potential we have as a nation.

I know there are some of my friends on here that supported McCain and are very unhappy right now.
Can you honestly say that an Obama presidency is going to take America in a wrong direction or make things worse than they are now?

I hate Bush with a passion and I am happy that he will be gone next year (hopefully). I am worse off financially than I was when Clinton was president and the country is trillions in debt. McCain only offered more of the same. Please list out how I am wrong don't just make a blanket statement about how McCain is awesome....I want you to tell me facts about how he could have made things better for us. If you don't already know how an Obama presidency has plans to improve our standing in the world and start getting us out of debt, then you haven't been paying attention.

There are several issues which you list; I will attempt to distill them into a reasonable bullet point list so they can be addressed.

Bush’s Failed Presidency?

This has been a tired accusation in the media since he took office. Yes since he took office. It is part and parcel of the conspiracy theories around election 2000 in which Bush supposedly stole the election, then the supposed mishandling of the reaction to the 9-11, both domestically and globally. The National Debt, and a whole slew of other items that get added to the list when ever someone feels like placing blame. In a sentence; EVERYTHING BAD IS BUSH’S FAULT. The fundamental flaw with the argument is quite simple but those who hate Bush fail to see it.

We have a governmental system that generally means half of the people will be dissatisfied with the outcome of any given election, no matter what. There used to be something called the loyal opposition in this country, the principle was that “though we may disagree with your policy, you are the president and therefore command the respect of the entire nation". You will see that played about by the losing side this time as it should have been by the losing side last time. You will not see acts of treason ala John Murtha, Denis Kusinich, etc from the right. After 2000 this country became divided not because of Bush but because a bunch of whining children who didn’t get their way decided to throw a tantrum with the help of the print press and the alphabet CBSNBCABCCNNMSNBCBBC. Since they have aided in the election of a charlatan they will no doubt cover for him this time much the way they did for Clinton during his years. I would advise you to set aside your hatred and look at facts. The first being 7 years and counting with 0 attacks on the homeland, which by the way is the President’s chief role in our government; Protecting the Homeland.

Intelligent and well spoken black President?

Perhaps he is, we really don’t know do we? He certainly sounds good when he speaks, but he is reading off a teleprompter. The simple fact is when ever he goes “off-script” he is stuttering and meandering in his thought process. He can not articulate a simple answer. Nothing is black and white (if you’ll forgive the expression), right or wrong, but all shades of grey. In essence he has become president based on what he himself says; “just words, just speeches” which by the way he plagiarized from Deval Patrick’s 2006 speech. Hardly the intelligence you imply.

Inspiration?

Those of us who opposed him in the campaign are inspired. He symbolizes something fantastic; a black man who became president of the USA.I dare say that many of  his supporters were inspired because he was black, what a grand thing it is no? You all can relish your moral superiority in electing a black man. It is a shame that people can’t look beyond skin color even in 2008. President-elect Obama inspired not with the content of his character, but with the color of his skin. Martin Luther King is probably rolling over in his grave. Pay attention over the next few years, will Jesse Jackson still be around? How about Al Sharpton, Farrakhan and all the other race-baiters. How many times will president Obama be let off the hook simply because he is black?

Will Obama take us in the wrong direction?

Yes. By his own words, and his fervent supporters would know this had they paid attention. The issue though is how to define wrong direction, You would likely think that it is anything remotely resembling a Bush Policy. Others would say anything that damages the country.

Will Obama make things worse than they are now?

If President Obama does what he says in terms of fiscal and foreign policy the answer is again yes. Sadly, these are facts that a majority of American’s either don’t understand or purposely ignored. The economy is in dire straights for a very specific reason, Social engineering. If you are unfamiliar with that term it means when the government tries to impact society in a way that goes against the natural tendency of human beings. The government cannot fix what it created, but Obama thinks it can. Through increased taxation, yeah I know you are going to cite some number that occasionally changes, but his record shows much lower than he even says. You need to stop and think for a minute about how taxes actually work. Disregard at what level he says he will impose them. What happens when business pay more in taxes? How do they deal with increased cost? What happens when individuals have to pay more in taxes on their investments? Will they continue to invest? Will they seek out instruments that protect them? If Investors quit investing in business what happens? Where do businesses go first to reduce cost? (this one I’ll answer for you: jobs) How do you think prices are set? Are they a function of material cost and overhead? Or are they some random number that some greedy executive says? What’s included in overhead? Are taxes included in that? If taxes go up will price also? If price goes up will sales? If sales go down, will the business be better or worse? If worse how will they respond to that? Further the market has dropped another 700 points as of this writing and since he was elected. It will continue to do so if he insists on his polices of taxation and other economically impacting issues like environmentalism and free trade.

Foreign Policy is a game of chess not checkers and Obama has shown himself to be a good checkers player, but woefully lacking in the skills of chess. To further exacerbate the problem and highlight Obama’s fundamental lack of experience, he sought out Biden, who has been wrong on just about every issue of foreign policy since he took office, not only wrong but delusionally so. Obama’s own party has said they wish to cut the military by 25%. Economically the military is the number one purchaser of manufactured goods and services in the US. Think of the impact to the economy that such a drastic cut would have, secondly how does he propose to defend ourselves, from those that conspire to destroy this country? “Just words, just speeches”? Here again is another flaw in his judgment and intellect. The enemies of the United States do not hate us because we don’t talk to them, they don’t hate us because Bush is president, (if so why were the twin towers first attacked under Clinton’s first term), They hate us because they are fundamentally flawed religious zealots. Words will do nothing to deter them. Whether you perceive it or not this is an existential conflict. To them our existence is inspiration enough for hatred and terrorist acts, much like the Jews were to Hitler. There can be negotiation under these terms, terms which they have set, not us.

Those are just two points, there are many others I can list, but I won’t. This country is seriously in danger with Obama at the helm. I hope he ignores his rhetoric and follows the advice of those who actually are intelligent on these matters. Furthermore I’ll say right now that I hope he does well, he is the president of my beloved country, I wish him no ill and only much success, I am simply mindful that it is not likely given his positions.

Bush hatred.

It’s called Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) it was first described by voters in Florida after the 2000 election, since then it has become a full fledged epidemic on the leftward leaning side of the populace. Lest you think I am joking look it up. The source of the syndrome comes form an over investment emotionally in the outcome of things with which neither you nor the president can control. My side just lost to a man I think is wrong for the country, will I become obsessively hateful towards him? No. I will work to ensure that my voice is heard, that is our right. There will be no such thing as (ODS)

Gone next year (hopefully)?

Here again is an example of BDS, why the hopefully comment? Do you think some conspiracy will take place to eliminate Obama before hand? Seriously? Get a grip and be rational. The man is surrounded by secret service, who are sworn to give up their life for him. He will take his oath (though I seriously doubt he will mean a word of it) and take office just like every other president before him.

Financial Status then and now?

I am sorry to hear that you are worse off now than you were 8 years ago; there are many that are like you in our country. But there are equally as many that are better off now than 8 years ago. Why is that? Were they all rich to begin with? I can only speak for myself. I am better off than I was eight years ago, doubly so. Why is that? I do not have a wealthy family, no education beyond community college, no grants from the government, nor do I own my own business. So why are some better off than others? You may not wish to hear it or you may not want to believe it because of what it means to you personally, but the simple truth of the matter is it is individual choice and individual responsibility. Those who are better off today will be better off in four years, those who are not will not be. Why is that? Because of the choices they make about their future, I choose to make my life better for myself, you and those who have bought the “Hope and Change” mantra choose to wait for someone else to do it for you. That is yours and their choice, but don’t begrudge those who have chosen differently and become successful. You should take inspiration from them and seek out ways to improve your circumstances on your own, otherwise you will forever be dependant upon someone else. Specifically the government, Be honest for a second, name one thing the government actually does right and cheaper than private industry.

Is National Debt a concern?

You comment that the national debt has risen, there are specific reasons for that. None of which I will go into here. What I will do instead is ask you if you think Obama is concerned about the national debt. If so why has he proposed increasing spending in an amount almost double what he says he can “save”? If so why have members of his own party said, “…that deficit spending will be necessary, we can always tax the wealthy more later”? Taxing the wealthy does not make up enough of his already proposed deficits, even if he were to tax them at 100% it wouldn’t make up enough. Further taxing the wealthy, (those that actually create jobs) will cause a furtherance of this economic downturn, what happens when people lose their jobs? Businesses close? Or worse move off shore? The tax revenues go down? This again speaks to his intelligence and judgment. It is a proven fact throughout the world that taxation does not lead to prosperity. All throughout Europe countries are lowering taxes to invite business after having gone the route that Obama wants to go, now here. Is he blind to their failure or does he just not care? Either way it doesn’t speak well of him, it is as if he and his supporters (those who understand, not the those simply enamored with him) want to “experiment” with our economy and at the worst possible time. Regardless will you care about the national debt when he says he has to increase it? Will you decry him for the same things you decry Bush for? I doubt it. You will buy fully whatever he is selling, because he’s your guy.

On a side note: Though Bush was my guy, I have a decried every instance of his bad economic and social policies. They are currently functioning as I predicted, terribly. Does this make me a prophet? No. I simply have educated myself through study and observation so that I know what does and doesn’t work.

You asked to have facts I have just given you a bunch of things to consider, interspersed throughout are facts and common sense anecdotes. I have asked you specific questions in the hopes of helping you understand that you quite possibly have been duped. And if so what will your response be? Will you suddenly turn on him? Or will you blindly follow?

Good luck to you, and congratulations on your victory, (all blame from here on out can be laid nowhere save the feet of the Democratic Party and Obama)

The Message

Ok, I thought I was going to stay away, but I’m too much of an activist and I can’t help but read comments on my favorite blogs. Call me a lurker if you must but I am the good kind, gathering intel before laying out what needs to be done.

Points of order: Loyal opposition, the country has spoken and it voted against our wishes. Eight years ago the country voted and it was with our wishes. Part of being an American is understanding the nature of our politics, we made our wishes known, we lost. We will resist and show ourselves BETTER than the left in their opposition to Bush. Else wise we are no better. Reread that and think about it.

Everybody will be debating why it happened, we all knew it was a long shot to begin with. We just wouldn’t face it. Instead we clung to hope, never a bad thing, but when reality hits we have a choice. Run and hide, snivel and whine, or face it head on.

Can you guess which one I am about to suggest?

Let all the paid people figure out what happened… we know already: Mac was not a conservative, we know this. There was no real counter to liberal ideas. Period, end of story, maybe he could have won, I doubt it. The point is he didn’t and President Obama will take office in about two and a half months.

So ponder this friends, we are about to embark on a journey that will lead to beautiful vistas from high reaching mountains, and dark and lonely valleys. The battle over the country is not over its just beginning. I will not cede defeat until they arrest and silence me. Will you?  

Everyone wants to know what to do now? I have previously given suggestions, yet all continue to wonder what to do, am I talking to myself? It wouldn’t be the first time.

So let me break this down for those who want to know what to do, pay attention, but don’t worry if you miss something, because I have a feeling that I will repeat this often in exhortation and encouragement.

Forget everything you hear and know, forget about various polices that might be enacted, forget about the possibilities of socialism, and focus yourself on the foundational core of what I am going to lay out right now. The rest we will address when the need arises.

FAITH-FAMILY-COUNTRY

Those three items are the three lamposts from which we can find the foundation. Any other guidance is dark and cannot guide us in the tempest that is coming. So let us begin.

There is reason I list them in that specific order, much like the way each successive Right of the Bill of Rights builds on the previous Right.

Faith is a part of the human psyche regardless of what atheists and the like would tell you. Furthermore it is uniquely part of the American experience for a large swath of our society (85% believe in God). It is absolutely unquestionable that our Founder’s understood faith and its importance in governance. (please don’t bore me in comments with “proofs” otherwise) Faith is fguiding, even beyond its immediate religious connotations. God calls everyone to become part of his family, he considers us children of his. The Christian tradition is full of examples of God as Father. It is upon this guidance that our own families are built. We find in faith a blueprint for family and life beyond.

If you pray, pray for your families, our current and next president, and our beloved country. If you don’t or don’t believe in God then don’t begrudge us our faith.

Family is the secondary lampost, but is incredibly important in the rebuilding we wish to do. It is here that we prepare the next generation, it is here that we counter the onslaught from outside, it is here that we help our children hone their skills in cognitive thinking that will allow them to discern the difference between right and wrong, truth and lie. It is here tha we give them the foundation. (more on that later)

This cannot be overstated; our children and grand children are the future of this country. If we fail to restore this nation, it will be they who reclaim it, but only if we teach them what we believe, why we believe and how to apply that knowledge to their own lives.

So from Faith tends Family, and from Family tends Country. For what is a Country but a group of various families? Every nation great and small throughout history has followed a very simple pattern.

Shared vision (faith) – family – groups of families (creating a system to govern all their doings).

So begin with your personal faith whatever that may be. Start with your family ensuring the next generation is ready to take up the mantle of liberty. From your core family move to your extended family, don’t be shy or apologetic for your beliefs, it is your right to have them and to share them as you wish. Beyond the extended family lay friends and co-workers. Beyond them your community, your state, and your nation.

“Why are you being so simplistic RB?”

Because if you can’t talk politics with your family in a civil and yet persuasive manner, you will never be able to with anyone else. There is a building process to it, and experience in formulating and defending your ideas against people for whom you care and in return care for you, is a good place to practice. It will build in you the ability to sympathize or empathize with non –family members when you reach out to them.

So now that I have, yet again, outlined how to change the country, laying out the who and the how, the next question is the what.

What is the conservative message in these times? What is the message that can and will resonate with every member of our society that is worth reaching, our children first, then our communities then our nation?

Is it lower taxes?

Is it capitalism?

Is it guns?

Is it abortion?

Is it strong national defense?

Is it trade?

Is it the deficit?

Is it family values?

What is this elusive message that conservatives seem to have lost?

Are you ready, willing, and able to not only hear it but accept it? Let it seep deep into your being and guide everything you know? Are you ready to use it as the measure by which EVERY single thing that confronts the conservative movement can be gauged?

Will you take up the mantle with me and carry this message far and wide and use it as the platform for a revolution? You have heard it before, it’s always in the long list of conservative principles, tossed in as though among equals, when it stands head and shoulders above the rest. In fact it is from this singular principle that all other conservative ideas, notions, and values flow.

Dear reader it is the answer, the counter to every single issue of society, it has been right before our eyes and we failed to see it, instead getting lost in the mire of hot topic issues, like immigration, abortion, gun rights, taxes etc.

To every assault there is a counter measure, battles are won by discovering and using effectively the right counter measure. Here it is.

Individual Responsibility.

Teach it to your kids, explain it to your neighbors, make sure our political representatives understand and have adopted it in their own lives and will govern by it. Think about it readers. Contemplate it for a second or two or sixty. The message of the conservative movement needs to be Individual Responsibility.

Some examples:

Socialism? Individual responsibility, what is socialism if not collective responsibility?

Abortion? Individual responsibility; of those who engage in behaviors known to create babies.

Immigration? Individual responsibility; of those who would come to this nation.

Taxes? Individual responsibility; of citizens to pay, and individual responsibility of members of congress to use it properly.

Crime? Individual responsibility; of those who commit the crimes.

Have I made myself clear yet? This is a simple message that will resonate with people of all hyphenated types. From it's foundation can be built the framework that explains and expands all other conservative ideas and ideals.

Do you want to make a difference? Don’t forget to preach and teach Individual Responsibility.

Freedom In Exile

Well its about 7:20 PST, Fox is calling PA and OH and.... for Obama.
 
Looks like flag will be upside down and at half mast begining tomorrow. I don't think there is any chance at this point for those states to suddenly reverse, so that's it. Now begins the hard work in a hostile climate.
 
I am going dark for a few days, to contemplate a few things of critical import to my family based on the possibilities of how an Obama presidency will turn out. I am no alarmist but I advise all to consider the well being of their families in terms of the finacial mayhem that could ensue following the inauguration of "The One". Taxes are but a small portion of it. I also recomen reading my post on captialism.
 
I myself will be reevaluating several of my financial priorities, in an attempt to place my family in a better position to weather the finacial storm coming. I suspect the Dow will free fall for the next couple days.
 
On the personal safety side. It has become a fact that presidents are tried early in hteir first term. Clinton, Bush, and probably Obama. Now is the time to prepare for an emergency. While no one can predict the scope, magnitude and target, it is always best to prepared. I have know this since a child as I live in an earthquake prone area.
 
Aside from that be of good cheer, all is not lost. We need simply brace ourselves and prepare. There are subtle signs of hope if you care to see them. I'll list a few here.
Overreaching: If Obama tries to overreach there will be a backlash.
Populace: 34% right, 44% middle, 22% left. He will likely govern center left for the reelection in four years.
2 years and counting to till the next election.

Some thoughts on election eve

I find myself pondering the inexplicable. (forgive my typos as I'm not writing in Word and am jsut free forming).
 
Inexplicable #1: The Republic is on the verge of voting a radical into office (see all the crazy stuff out there about him suppresed by the media)
 
Why? How does this happen? Have we truly moved that far away from the foundations laid down by our founders? I suppose we have as attention spans have shortened, MTV and Vido games an 24/7 cable "news" have advanced our cosiety into the information age. I feel like my generation was the last genration taught freedom before the end.
 
I watch this guy, and listen to what he says, and it is nothing, inspiring but built on air and nothing more. I can't get over it. Why? Because I don't consider myself any smarter than the average person. If I can see it why can't others? Am I blind and delusional? Are they right? This guy is not evil incarnate and will be moderate and govern from the middle. Perhaps thats what we need right now, but I can't shake the feeling that he is everything he says he is in unguarded moments. Should I list them? Have we not seen them all already?
 
What does it say when real Americans sit around the kitchen table and disucuss the potential of armed rebellion? Have we all lost our minds, or  are the dangers real and present? I want to believe that it is the drumming up of fervor to get out the vote, but I can't escape the man's own words. the radicalism in his tutors the insanity of his blatant disregard for the constitution. It all adds up. I feeel as though I am the guy in his basement writing about the reptilian alien Iluminatti taking over the world through globalism.
 
The barrage of media most of which is my own fault. Serves to make me seriously wonder about the possibility of the semi-silent take over of the USA by a radical. I fear for my family's future and honestly wonder what world my beautiful 6 mo old twins will grow up in.
 
But then that's feeling. Did  you hear me? Feeling. Conservatives don't go off feeling, we go off facts, but facts often evoke emotional response, sometimes rational and other completely irrational. My mind struggles with my gut about the reality of the situation and the potential for harm and response.
 
Inexplicable # 2: I think there is something strange going on. I think there is an unreported undercurrent of discotent that does not lead me to the conclusions that some have reached. I take what I know of the electorate and examine it in objectivity.
 
We are deeply divided in this country, and most people would agree with me. But they stop and leave it at that. Some of us think there is a right and a left, or if we don't think that we suspect that it all boils down to that and I think thats false. There are so many variations of the "Right" some pulling in one direction, others pulling in another. But in the end each distinct group is made up of people with various agenda's myself included. The"Left" is no more solid in its coallitions, deeply fragmented and strugling for control. Somwhere inbetween are folks that just want lives to be better.
 
I have spoken to Republicans voting Democrat, third party, party line, and abstaining altogether. There is a similar wave of discontent on the "Left" Democrats voting, republican, third party, abstaining or party line. There is an electoral revolution at hand and it doesn't breakdown along party lines. I think it breaks down along the lines of (to coin a new phrase) "bi-partisan or multipartisan similarities of ideolgy" wherein voters of all brands are bucking the system. I suppose it would be too much to hope fore to think that all were in agreement  on some specific issue that we could agree on, but I fail to see that coming to fruition. Rather I see this as more an affiliation of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".
 
As such this evolution of the electorate is mind boggling. First in its mind boggling capacity to obliterate the paradigm of conventional thinking regarding Polls, and electoral analysis. Consider if you will for me the following:
 
If Obama wins, he as seduced the far left, moderate dems, a handfull of Republicans, and who knows what else to vote for him. At the same time the conflux of conservativism has produced a very moderate candidate that is/was/may be struggling to retain his base, while losing off some hard liners to third party candidates. what does that mean in terms of how he governs, will he be beholden to the left, will he be fearful of the other half of the country that didn't vote for him?
 
If Mac wins he has done it by the oddest coaliton of electorate I have surely seen. Republican moderates, Blue dog democrats, disgruntled Hillary voters, conservatives and who knows what else.
 
What does that mean to how he will govern?
 
It is true no president pleases everyone. but how can these two please anyone?
 
Moreover, how can any of the "statistics" we are seeing ( huge leads, closing anything!) be reliable when there is absolutely no historical data of such a mixing of political groups? Further add to it race, intentional chaos, created by "Operation Chaos" and "Puma" voters. Numbers you see are just a break down of of party affiliation and this time that doesn't mean as much as it used to.
 
So  a word of caution to my readers, believe nothing till its over, somwhere between reason and fear is reality.
 
There is a proposal circulating around that should Obama win all patriots should fly their flags at half mast or upside down or both. I will as a way of silent protest for the length of his administration. Perhaps it will serv, if others join in, that we will not go quietly into the dark night with him. and deter his abandonment of constitutional rule.
 
Should Mac win I intend to fly it high and proud for the length of his administration. as a reminder of how close we came.
 
I think I will even display and sticker in the window of my car that is displayed as outlined above. More people to see and maybe a few to ask why, if its upsid down.
 
To all patriots on this eve, I simply say this: When Bush won many on the liberal left said "He is not my President". While they may have felt and believed that, he was, in fact, Constituitonally elected, and his oath to uphold the Constitution was honored. If Obama is elected, he has no allegiance from me "he is not my President" not because I am a whining fanatic that didn't get his way, but because by his own admission he will  forgoe his oath and fail to uphold the Constitution of this Republic.
 
Having said all this I offer a simple prayer:
 
"Not our will, but thine Lord"

Veering Right

 Over the last few weeks (or years really) I have contemplated the fate of my beloved Republic.

Today we are a week away from a presidential election, my ninth, in terms of eligibility. My values have been conservative for as long as I can remember. I have a sense, through knowledge and experience, that many American’s are just like me; a potpourri of  history and ideas that culminate into a philosophy on the world… the proverbial “worldview” that every human has, if you will. They may be as varied as the colors of an Arizona sunset, but every individual has a worldview.

I know how I will vote this time and this essay is not a discussion of my vote, one way or another. Rather it is a response, personally, to my view of the challenges America faces. I share it with those who read it, for no purposes other than to share.

I KNOW that conservatism is the answer to much of what ails this great nation; she is sick but still great. As many conservatives do, I feel deeply individualistic tendencies, as such, conservatives, I in particular, rarely join together as a whole, as a group, save when we have a leader with which to rally to or around. The thing about this election cycle, in my perspective, is that conservatives apparently lack a leader to bring them into a cohesive unit. We are assailed by political parties, pundits, pollsters and “reporters” opinion makers all but none leaders. As such Conservativism is adrift. Or is it?

We can bemoan the various reasons for this, we can argue on the finer points of the electoral process, the MSM, liberal institutions of indoctrination, multiculturalism etc, etc, ad infinitum, ad nauseum. Sadly, complaining does little beyond refining one’s own belief, it does nothing to actually effect a change.

Regarding leadership however, or the lack thereof, we live under a peculiar political system. We are a representative republic, as I am sure you are all aware. But yet we hear slogans every election regarding leadership. Even we conservatives fall into the trap of “leadership” to endorse a leader is to imply that we are followers. That is not how our Republic works. We elect representatives in BOTH the legislative and executive branches that are NOT there to lead us, rather they are there to represent us; in the laws they create, the treaties they negotiate, the judges they pick, the expenditures of public funds etc, etc, etc. This is a critical distinction; if conservatives look for a leader we miss the point of our founder’s entirely. That point being that we are self governed. Hence the phrases “...deriving their just powers from the CONSENT of the governed”, “We the people”, need I go on?

If then the government requires not leaders, but representatives of those it is charged with governing, where is the failure? Is it on the representatives, or those represented?  

I say it falls to those being represented; it is we who have failed. We have the government we deserve. I have the government I deserve. It is I who have failed, not the Constitution, it is I, as one being represented, who failed to ensure that my representatives knew my wishes, it is I who have failed to ensure that my view is proliferated to my fellow citizens.

Conservatives have applied a “buy and hold” strategy to our representatives. But this type of investment does not function as it should without constant tending and adjustment. We have rested in our electoral victories while around us our ideas and ideals have been incrementally and steadily eroded. There is no rest, even if tomorrow brought about a fully restored Republic based solely on the Constitution, we cannot rest. It is Truth that failure is only ever one generation away. We can never rest, there will always be those who wish something different than what should be. We must commit ourselves to the long war of ideology. Become active citizen soldiers in the war of ideas, the culture war that has raged since our beloved nation’s founding.

I speak for no one save myself. FOR ME THIS STOPS TODAY!

Call this a manifesto if you wish, though in truth it is more an action plan of what one man thinks he can do to change the world he lives in to make it Veer Right. Feel free to make suggestion as you too may have ideas that will work.

The Electoral Process.

Picking and selecting a representative is a solemn responsibility endowed upon us by our Founding Fathers. But it is ultimately a small part of what actually guides the Republic. Individuals cast votes; a certain majority of votes creates a mandate. A minority of votes creates underrepresentation and disaffected citizens on one or another end of the political spectrum. The country is not made of one ideological group, therefore there will always be those who are “on the outs” Our representatives must make coalitions with ideological opposites and times to effectively govern the mass diversity of populace. The key in this is not the making of stubborn representatives, but rather in making known what we are willing to compromise on, and exactly how much we are willing to compromise. Yes this is a slippery slope, and one to be guarded against at all times, but it is a dose of reality. I leave the line to be drawn by fellow citizens. But draw the lines and recognize the need for compromise we must for there is no other way given the current form our government as taken. Arguing about principle, or lack there of does little to effect how the government governs. So cast you vote but know that this is only the smallest part of veering right.

I have no desire or inclination whatsoever to run for office, as it is now. Others may and I wish them luck but, the entire massive beast, Fedzilla, as Ted Nugent calls it, is far too corrupt. Those who enter are or rapidly become unaccountable despots and are prone to excess due to the nature of the beast. They are unaccountable because the populace sleeps. Therefore winning elections does very little to advance the ideological goals of Conservativism. On another note, why would I ever wish to subject myself and my family to the brutal assault of the enemedia. But I want to change government so what do? I work to increase the conservative ideal in the mind of the populace.

I have written before of the Time – Talent – Treasure principle of capitalism. They make convenient subsets of address for the balance of this essay, since everyone has some measure of each.

1. Time
 
For the first time I am volunteering to aid the local GOP. My reasons are more personal than political. At the present time I believe that the GOP is well aware of its shortcomings. It will take people within their ranks, at every level to be heard, if they are to come to their senses. I believe that abandoning them will have little effect on my desired goals. I may be one drop in very large bucket, but who can know what influence I might have on others? If more like-minded individuals join in perhaps there will be a weight of influence that cannot be ignored. I do not however contribute financially. They haven’t earned it.

I live in a metropolitan area, though not extremely large. 600,000 I think.  We have several large chain bookstores, I have posted notices there for a conservative book club. It sounds quaint I suppose, yet I have several takers already. My intention is to avoid the lesser works of today, the Malkin, Coulter, etc type books. The first book on the list is valentine’s conservative handbook if you’re wondering. Also on the list are the founding documents, the federalist and anti federalist papers, and other serious works.

There are also various web sites like meetu.com where you can meet other’s of like mind to work together to affect change. As of the moment I haven’t decided which site to use but intend to do so soon.

I am thinking about teaching adult literacy at the local library, living in Southern California this sometimes takes on ESL (English as a Second Language) imperatives. What better place to insert my influence into a growing populace within our country?

I have and will continue to engage people in open honest debate about beliefs and my views of how to fix the problems we face.

Beyond this, there are several principles that guide me. I have children (babies) and grand children (long story), I strive to combat whatever indoctrination they might receive through the public schools system, TV, Video Games, Music, and other cultural incursions into my family. This is no small feat, and perhaps has given me my perspective on the battle. I don’t allow certain things in my home. Those things that young minds cannot properly understand nor discern as right or wrong, in doing so I hope to raise the next generation of conservatives amongst my own family. Books are essential to this as children in my experience love to read and be read to. That means turning off sports, or news and spending time reading them books with a conservative bent. The Bible is on this list, but so too are other books, Lynne Cheney’s children’s books come to mind at the moment. There are also plenty of homeschooling websites that have booklists for young readers. Do not underestimate the power of this type of counter assault on society. There is no better school than the home, and no better teacher than the parent.

2. Talent

Most of those who read this essay, share a talent with me, writing. I have had the pleasure of reading many of the essays found on TH and have been impressed by the styles and coherency of thought put into them. I have determined to begin a one man writing campaign. Frequent letters to my representatives at all levels of government is on my writing agenda. In addition to that, Letters to the editor of the local paper, or posting comments on their on-line columns and articles. I will of course include the “meet-up” group link on these posts. Organizing and public speaking happen to be talents of mine as well, I fully intend to utilize them when the opportunity arises. Should no opportunity be forthcoming I will actively seek to create one.

3. Treasure

In an economic downturn such as we are confronting. This becomes the most valuable resource I have. Ever hear of the phrase “vote with your pocketbook”? I have already started so have you most likely. Gas prices skyrocket, I drive less. Prices are falling, I have no intention of increasing my driving. Now the ecowhackos might see this as environmentally responsible but in truth its about my money!

I have not contributed financially to a party this time around, and that too is a vote with my wallet. Now let’s get serious for a second. Money talks, and quite loudly, you may feel that your vote is unheard, but your purchases or lack of are always heard. Trust me I used to work in marketing; you would be absolutely shocked at how far a household is broken down, sliced, diced and parsed into a purchasing power and make-up.

Here in California, we are voting on prop 8, if you don’t know what it is, it’s a proposition to add to the state constitution a definition of man and woman to marriage. There is a long list of corporate sponsors of the opposition to this bill, AT&T being one of them. My contract is up next month, and I will be changing to a new provider. I’ll send them a letter so they know why.

Now I could spend a lot of time trying to figure out ever corporation behind every bit of legislation or candidate, but I have neither the time nor inclination to do so (though I would be happy to read someone else’s research into it). I suspect it would be a full time job, and if you with held your purchasing power from all of them you’d end up in the dark, without heat, TV gasoline etc, etc. if I wanted that I’d go camping. But the simple truth is you don’t have to hit every corporation that sponsors liberal agendas. You only need to hit a couple and make it known why they are being hit. Does anyone remember Proctor and gamble being hit for their logo? Supposedly it had 666 in it somewhere. My father-in law worked for them at the time and they were scared. Their sales dropped almost 15% in a matter of weeks. They eventually changed the logo. Imagine how much more impact we could have by targeting corporations that champion causes in opposition to ours.

One in Particular comes to mind at the moment. MSNBC is owned by GE (General Electric). Aside from their electronics and other business entities that I refuse to purchase, they control a rather large portfolio of media, MSNBC is only a part of it. Hmmm? I wonder who advertises on those entities, providing dollars to GE that allows them to put the most vile, unjournalistic opinionators on air? I wonder what would happen if I stopped buying from them? Probably nothing. What would happen if conservatives stopped buying from them?  You see where I am going with this? I thought so.

Just stop buying from those companies that support our ideological “enemies”. Chances are you can find a substitute if it’s a necessity. In my case I am more likely to go without.

So this is just the outline of an action plan that I intend to implement. Will it change the culture? Around me yes, even if only one person changes their mind and begins the journey of conservative thought and deed, then I will consider it a success. If more join with me in these simple things, it will grow and spread and perhaps change more than just the around us, perhaps around the coountry.

The Shift You Might Have Missed

Random thought: Something happened in the last couple days.
 
Were you paying attention?

Stick with me for a few moments. A few weeks ago the Democratic talking heads were all over the "Its the economy stupid". Do you recall?
Obama and Biden were "economy, economy, economy," Even worse the Republican talking heads said the economy kills McCain.
 
Senator Government was so sure he had his issue, that he even joked about it at the Alfred E. Smith Roast. "...If I talk about the economy John loses, so I'd like to talk about the economy."
 
But something changed... Insert Joe the Plumber, god bless him, and the "spread the wealth around" comment.
 
We new it was big, we hoped it would be enough. It was just in time for Mac to use in the debate. It stuck, since then Mac and Sarah have put more nails in it to make sure it doesn't fall off.
 
Was that the shift? Republicans hoped so. I am not so sure. The dems were still talking the economy, the economy, the economy.
 
Insert Senator Six Term: "Mark my words he's going to be tested..."
 
Did the election gods just smile on McCain a second time in two weeks?
 
Well faithful reader they did, I know it goes beyond what you might imagine... an extreemly lucky break if you will.
 
How do I know this stuck, how do I know it shifted? What shifted? The momentum did, And Mac is driving it home, and Senator Government and his surogates don't know what to do.
 
"You sound pretty sure of yourself RB, How do you know?"
 
When the economic meltdown happened, Sarah Palin stoped making headlines, did you notice that? They didn't need to bad mouth her because they had  an issue they thought they could win on. The last few days that changed. All the talking heads are stuck on Sarah again.
 
Did you notice did you catch it?  150k on wardrobe, she's an idiot, she lied, she doesn't know what the VP does, etc. etc.
 
Colin Powel endorsing Obama says volumes about his lack of viability. But what he did is throw him the only life line he has for the next two weeks. "whaaaaa, whaaaaa, whaaaa, ugly tenor, whaaaaa whaaa, Sarah Palin lacks experience, whaaaa whaaaa whaaaaaaa."
 
Did you catch it? Did you notice? He threw Senator government a lifeline, a flotation device. "I'll start the ball rolling for ya O, you just keep it going for 12 days, and lets hope we can make it to the finish line" was what he was saying. The dutiful media, with a sigh of relief, gladly took the ball and ran with it, they were getting nowhere fast beating up on Joe the  Plumber thinking that somehow that would absolve O from the redistribution comment. 
 
Did you miss that one? I didn't think so.
 
Pay attention friends. Its all about Sarah this week from the Dems.
 
Though I can't believe I am saying this, John Mccain just might win ON THE ECONOMY.

State of the Union

My fellow Amer… uhm, ur, Uhm residents of the United States of America.

It has ever been, the potential of citizens to address the state of this Union If I may, with open mind and wounded heart, address said state , I am compelled by reason to humbly admit that the state of this Union is; Shattered.

Sadly, it has fallen on me, the least likely humble servant of this Republic, to point this out to those who still cling to an antiquated notion of unity. We the people are fractured and fractious, diverse and disingenuous, having given ourselves over to the sway, both inconsiderate and ill-considered, of opinion.

A call to unity, is a denial of the state in which we the people find our union. It is a sad and desperate appeal to that which no longer exists, that which, perhaps by countless choices of free individuals or Divine intercession, should no longer exist.

Traitor! Serpent of ill will! Defiler of sacred unity! You may heckle me as is your wont, though it may be best considered an epithet of denial rather than the solidifying cry of unity amongst equals. We the people are no longer equal, not in fact, nor even in theory.

That which unites a people, under a banner of a nation or creed, which is neither wretched nor wrathful, but exits in every portion of a free society of self governed individuals, has fallen to the consistent hammering and chipping away of incessant opinion. These voices, having at all times and in all places worked to drown out this one lost article, have become insurmountable by we the people.

Truth no longer exists neither in our public discourse nor in our private intercessions with countrymen on behalf of this nation. Where is Truth in the call to unity among individuals, who with thoughtful dispensation determine a course in opposition to their fellow citizens?

Is this a call to unity in the absence of Truth, nay, better my voice be stilled than rally such an inappropriate and entirely unwholesome cry.  There can be no unity in the absence of Truth, for without it every belief of every man is subject to his own subjective reflection. This is the current State of our supposed Union.

For how can socialists and libertarians be united? How can liberals and conservatives be united? In further contemplation of this evident fact, how can those, who either by self determination or ill opinion, called Paleocons, neocons, conservatives, liberals, peaceniks, environmentalists, or other such moniker, of fame or infamy, be united into a coherent voice amongst their own leanings, let alone their disparate opposites?

This is no small matter, in the history of nations both great and small, long lived and short in duration. No small matter indeed in the history of our own republic, which founded in unity based on division of ideas though not ideals.  This nation was founded upon underlying Truth which no longer exists today.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

There is no self evident truth if WE does not exist.

If no Creator exists, how can we be equal? We are no longer a creation but a random happenstance of biological function, neither equal nor endowed, for endowment requires a benefactor, One who many of “we the people” refuse to acknowledge exists, or by least measure, has any role in the shaping of their lives or actions.

In the destruction of the Creator in public discourse, we have separated and made alien that which was unalienable, for without acknowledgement of our endower the rights endowed are meaningless.

What is Life, when it is merely, a random act of biological function? It is something to no longer be cherished and looked up on as having value unto itself, as the object of creation. It is no more relevant than the waxing waning of tides, the capricious maelstrom that destroys one abode and leaves another standing. It is a burden to those who do not which to cherish it. It is something to be cast away upon a whim as though inconvenient and not special. It was not created therefore it has no value of its own, at any time, neither in the womb nor years after its entrance into this world.

But it is more than the mere appeal on behalf of innocence, for Life is surly more encompassing than just children. Life is the entirety and scope of human endeavor, the pursuit of knowledge becomes a hopeless search for existential meaning in the absence of Truth. The pursuit of wealth becomes self satisfying greed rather than the preparation for future well being. Charity becomes enslavement if life is worthless. Love becomes perverse, merely a word to be deployed for self gratification. Relationships on every level become one individual using another in the absence of the Life endowed by our Creator.

What is Liberty if not given by the True Liberator? It is tyranny, self inflicted and detrimental, though called by another name. It is Government by the ungrounded and faulty, it is the manipulation of Truth to indoctrinate and enslave. Witness the moral fiber, decayed and crumbling, of a civilization unmoored from its anchors. Speak not of unity to me when disparity is rife. Neither commend nor pursue unity in the absence of liberty, there can be none.

What is happiness with out Truth? It is the state of denial, self deluded and demoralized.  There can be no active or passive state of satisfaction, when life and liberty are thusly denounced.  When the fruit of honest labor is given over to the sustainment of the slothful, there can be no happiness. When tyranny, through legislative action or inaction, contrary to the will of the people is subjected upon the citizens, can there be happiness?

The State of the Union is shattered, the fractured pieces of Truth, once held in highest regard with solemn forethought, that now rests comfortably in the hands of a few is all that remains of the shattered Republic. It falls once again to the Patriot, with deliberative mind, servile heart and outspoken deed, to take on the task of citizen warrior.

The hour is late, the sun makes its fateful ark in declination to the twilight of our Republic. It is we who stand in the gap, It is we who defend the Republic, it is we who must confront the lie with truth. For without us, the republic falters.

A lil Satire for a Firday

Someone correct me if I am wrong but didn't Obama say his experience running his campaign provided him executive experience? Tried to find the exact quote, but failed and got bored looking for it.
 
 
RB: So Senator, Running your multi million doolar campaign is a good example of your executive experience?
 
BO: "I'd like to thank you, for stopping in with campaign RB, and yes it is, obviously."
 
RB: You're welcome Senator, You know of course that I have been asking for this interview for a week now, they keep reffering me to a schedule. I asked around and none of your aides seemed to have one. I asked other reporters, they too said they weren't sure what was going on.
 
BO: "Yes, well you see being the candidate of change things change at a moment's notice. Paper schedules are hard to keep updated. Do you subscribe to our Action Reports?"
 
RB: Well sir, I used to, but sadly my blackberry was damaged the last time you had all your press corps wait two hours in the hotel parking lot in the rain. What was that about?
 
BO: "Well RB, A chief executive has many demands on his time, surely you know this. I was on the phone with Keny... Michelle and the kids." To an aide "you there, sweetie, you look like you can afford another one, give RB here your Blackberry."
 
RB: Uh Uhm Thank you? Oh I see, your kids, Well sir I had several questions I wanted to ask you, but unfortuanetly I dropped my notepad, and it was quickly snatched up by someone."
 
BO: "Oh well then you have something memorized? I know its tough, I can't seem to get it right either. Hey! You should come up with a teleprompter for your interviews. They I could use mine too. Why did someone steal your pad?"
 
RB: Well that's one question we have all been asking, you think someone could get the lavatory fixed, its been plugged up for a month. And while they are at it think they could restock the TP, I think thats's why they took my pad?"
 
BO: "Is that what that smell is? I thought it was the Al Jazeera guy, making dinner or something. I'll get right on it, Hey ploufe or pouf or puff puff see to the john, guess its backed up again, get it 'the John', I crack myself up sometimes." 
 
RB: Uh ok...That's funny sir, Thanks for taking care of that for we reporters.
 
BO: No problem, do all I can for you guys, ya know, you have done so much for me.
 
RB: Well in that case sir, you think you might be able to get a few more seats for us? I mean I know how important it is for you to have a practice stage with teleprompters set up and all, but we have to draw straws to for a seat since there is twety of us and only seven seats.
 
BO: "No can do RB, need every advantage I can get, with out that practice and polish you know I can't come off as well as I do."
 
RB: I understand, well I'd like to get to some policy questions sir..."
 
BO: "Is that the seatbelt light? We are going to have to cut it short RB?"
 
RB: But sir, one question?
 
BO: "Sorry you'll have to get the schedule from one of the staff."
 
RB: The is no schedule sir!
 
BO: I see, well we'll get right on that like we do with everything. Hey can I borrow that napkin you're writing on?"
 
RB: That's my interview notes Senator.
 
BO: "Well I kinda need it really bad if you know what I mean?"
 
RB: Hear you go...
 
BO: Great thanks, very patriotic of you, remember Hope and Change, Change you can believe in etc etc..
 
Door shuts on forward lavatory.
 
RB: Yeah, cant wait for that, campaign is running great here, country should be just fine.
