A Letter to John McCain

With the passage of the Porkulus Bill (thanks Rush!) it moves to the Senate. I understand there is little hope of stoping this thing, but that doesn't mean we can't try. My own senators (Boxer and Feinstein) are in the tank, so I decided to write to a different senator. Join me in forwading this email to him and to any who might share the sentiments.  a link to his page is here and a link to his contact email form is here

Senator McCain,

I am one of the 46 million Americans that voted for you for President. As such I feel compelled to contact you regarding the so called "stimulus" that recently passed the house in a completely partisan vote. Sir, during your canidacy you made promises regarding pork and unneccessary spending. Though you did not win your bid for President as a supporter of yours I expect you to live up to that promise.

I urge you to vote no on this pork barrel feeding frenzy of a bill and to use your considerable influence to persude the more moderate memebers of the Republican party to join you in standing firm against such nonsense. For surely nonsense is the only word that can be used to describe a bill that provides tax rebates to illegal aliens, hundreds of millions of dollars for STD prevention, and near billions for groups like ACORN, but not a single economically stimulating thing, not even modest tax cuts to spur investment.

Please sir don't make a liar out of yourself and fools out of the 46 million of us that stood with you on Novemebr 4th. This bill is bad for the country you love, and no amount of political wordsmithing will make it any better.

God Bless you sir for your past and current service to this great nation, it is time now for you to serve her once again and prevent the enourmous financial burden that will be layed not only on our backs, but the backs of our children and grand children.

RB
